LoL: Afreeca slays Longzhu Gaming
Afreeca put out Longzhu Gaming's flame of hope in Week 9 of League of Legends Champions Korea.
Echo Fox have survived relegation and will be in the summer split of the NA LCS with its 2-1 win over Team Liquid. The Foxes will join Team SoloMid, Cloud9, Phoenix1, FlyQuest, Dignitas, Counter Logic Gaming, Immortals, and the two clubs who advance from the promotional tournament which takes place next week.
Team Liquid have been relegated to the promotional tournament along with Team Envy. They will play in the tournament along with minor league clubs EUnited and Gold Coin United next week, with only the two top making it into the summer LCS split.
FlyQuest has qualified for the North American LCS playoffs with its win in game two versus Team Liquid. At 1-1, Team Liquid now have to win the third and final set to avoid relegation.
The top eight of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament 2GGC: Civil War is set to begin later on Sunday in Santa Ana, California. The remaining eight players include Zack "CaptainZack" Lauth, Samuel "Dabuz" Buzby, Griffin "Fatality" Miller, Isami "T" Ikeda, Noriyuki "Kirihara" Kirihara, Eita "HIKARU" Hoshi, Mason "Locus" Charlton and Tyler "Marss" Martins. Dabuz is the only top 10 player in the industry-standard Panda Global Rankings to compete in the tournament's top eight after many of his peers, including Gonzalo "ZeRo" Barrios and Elliot "Ally" Bastien Carroza-Oyarce who the tournament is themed around, have been eliminated earlier on.
Team SoloMid have won the NA LCS spring regular-season title following a 2-0 sweep over third place Phoenix1. TSM will now await the highest remaining seed in the semifinals three week from now.

Blizzard Entertainment CEO Michael Morhaime has announced StarCraft: Remastered, a major revisit to the 19-year-old classic real-time strategy game that played a key role in establishing esports. Remastered will feature 4K graphics, re-recorded audio and other upgrades but will keep the familiar gameplay the same. In anticipation of Remastered's release this summer, an update to StarCraft: Brood War to version 1.18 on March 30 will include an observer mode, improved online matchmaking functionality and other features and bug fixes. Morhaime also announced that after the game is updated to 1.18, the StarCraft anthology with the original StarCraft and expansion will be free forever (pricing for Remastered has not yet been announced). Top Brood War players like Lee "Flash" Young-ho took the stage in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday following the presentation and spoke positively about their experiences so far with Remastered.

If FLY drop to TL, however, the final playoff spot will be determined in a one-game tiebreaker between FlyQuest and the loser of the DIG and IMT series.
North American AD carry Trevor "Stixxay" Hayes will sit out of Counter Logic Gaming's (9-7) League Championship Series game today following an undisclosed illness or injury, the team announced Saturday. Storied esports org Team Liquid is jumping back into Heroes of the Storm after disbanding its former roster in December 2016.
